Public Performances

In addition to our Custom Programs and Training programs, Erasing the Distance stages shows at local theater venues for the general public. Our productions—often world premieres—are presented in partnership with mental health professionals that offer actor training and on-site audience support and information. Every performance is followed by a moderated, interactive dialogue between the cast and audience that addresses some of the themes just seen.

The 2016 PopUp Series was a collection of four unique productions that consisted of a limited amount of performances held in non-traditional performing spaces. Each PopUp was produced by a different ETD company member. In the words of Founder/Artistic Director Emeritus Brighid O’Shaughnessy:

The PopUp Series was inspired by our desire as an organization to put the artistic reins in the hands of our company members. Each of our artists comes to Erasing the Distance with a passion for and a commitment to our mission and sees mental health through a unique and personal lens.
