Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation
We recently partnered with Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation (LCVFS), bringing excerpts from our production of Veterans’ Voices to three different conferences LCVFS organized.
Our performances served as the conference kick-offs, immediately bringing the emotional experience of veterans and their family members into the room. The goal was to help attendees better understand the potential impacts of military service on people’s mental health.
The conferences were for three distinct audience groups: college educators, members of the clergy, and clinicians. Each was highly impactful, and we definitely look forward to more opportunities to partner with LCVFS in the future.
“The ETD presentation at our conference last week was met with high praise (not surprisingly)! People were moved to tears and it struck a chord in many, so we offered individual counseling afterward for those who felt the need. One of the attendees stated it was ‘so real’ that he forgot they were actors and felt as if they were telling their own stories. One of the coordinators stated, ‘It was well worth every penny.’ Thank you all so much for participating in this event. Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation has been honored to have ETD pave the way toward education of mental health issues, helping to minimize the divide between those who serve and their communities.”
